The summer honey has been extracted and this year we have taken off 500lbs of honey. This is now stored in buckets ready to be jarred up when needed. This is off 10 hives and is a result of a good spring and summer with plenty of forage for the bees.

Juicing has begun
We are pleased to say that due to the mild and early spring, and the wet yet warm summer so far, some apples are now ripe and ready. Extracting now completed Total of 270 Lbs honey extracted and a unexpected swarm yesterday. Just need some better weather to bring on the summer flowers.

Spring update
Its been a while but an update from Cavell Orchards. 10 hives came through the winter and this last week has seen 4 swarms which have been hived in Nuc boxes, thanks to my assistants for their help in this as at the present time I only have one working arm due to shoulder surgery.Continue reading “Spring update”
