Spring Update

After the long winter the apple trees have been pruned, some unfortunately have had the bark nibbled by deer but these tress do look OK at the present. We now need some warm dry weather for the trees to flower and be pollinated.

We lost one colony of bees as their Queen did not make it through the winter and they died off. The remaining 9 hives are all doing well and once we get some warmer weather they will be out on the oilseed rape field just up the road and making honey as well as pollinating the apples.
